How do you prepare your
chocolate?
Pour wafers into 2-3" deep dish and set aside.
Take an electric deep dish frying pan (or large frying pan to be used on
a stove top), add 1-2" of
water and set the pan to low heat. Place dish of
wafers into water and stir until melted.
PLEASE NOTE: It is very important that the water never
boils. If the water gets too hot the chocolate will pass the
melting stage and thicken instead of liquefying.
Uses?
Chocolate Lollipops: pour melted
chocolate into plastic mold and place in refrigerator
until hard.
Chocolate Covered Cherries/Strawberries/Bananas: dip fruit into melted chocolate and place on waxed
cookie sheet. Place cookie sheet into refrigerator until
hard.
Pastries: weave melted chocolate into
cake batter right before putting into oven or on top of
frosting.
Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies: chop up
un-melted wafers into chips and add to cookie batter
instead of store bought chocolate chips.
Nut Clusters: melt 1/2 lb semi-sweet chocolate. Add 2
cups of peanuts and stir. Drop spoonfuls onto wax paper lined
cookie sheet. Place in refrigerator until firm.
Peanut Crispies: Melt 1 lb milk chocolate, stir in 1/2 cup
peanut butter until well blended. Add 4 cups rice crispies and
stir. Spoon onto wax paper lined cookie sheet and let harden at
room temperature.
SNACKS: Try the wafers straight! They
make excellent snacks.
